Yantar shipyard to build three frigates for Indian Navy

Yantar shipyard (Kaliningrad region) will build three frigates for Indian Navy, Yantar company reports according to shipbuilding.ru. The shipyard has already received advance payment from Indian customers. The amount is not disclosed. Kaliningrad shipyard cooperates with Northern Design-and-Construction Bureau of Saint Petersburg.  According to Nickolai Volov, Director General of Yantar shipyard, the designers finalize development of project documentation, materials and equipment is being ordered. Construction schedule is to be coordinated with Indian Navy in December. Keel-laying of the first frigate is scheduled for summer 2007.
