Onezhsky Shipyard finalizes the sixth vessel of the series

The Nikolay Klimov, the sixth ship of the series, has been built to the RS class at the Onezhsky Shipyard. This ship flying the flag of the Russian Federation is named after the captain of White Sea-Onega Shipping Company, Russian Register of Shipping reports. NIKOLAY KLINOV is fitted with modern equipment and is intended for the carriage of general, bulk, timber and large-size cargoes, containers and dangerous goods. This is a ship of the river-sea navigation, fitted with two azimuth thrusters providing for its high maneuverability and controllability; the ship has a double bottom, double hull and three holds. The two main engines 6L20 with a total capacity of 2100 kW made by Wartsila can operate both on diesel and engine fuel. Main dimensions are as follows:  maximum length – 108.33 m; design breadth – 16.5 m;  depth – 5.5 m;  deadweight at 4,792 m draft is 5465 t.

In December 2006 the seventh ship of the series – the Vasily Klimov - named after the chief engineer of the White Sea-Onega Shipping Company is planned for launch.
In September 2006 the construction of the eighth ship of the series began at the shipyard berth.
All the ships are constructed under the RS survey.
