Stevedoring companies of Sea Port of Saint Petersburg decrease cargo handling by 10% to 5.5 mln t in H1 08
In the first half of 2008, stevedoring companies of Sea Port of Saint Petersburg OJSC handled 5.5 million tonnes of cargo (-10%, year-on-year), the company reports.
In the reported period, transshipment of general cargo amounted to 3.8 million tonnes including 2.5mt of metal, 2.3 million tonnes of dry loose and bulk cargo (including 1.2mt of coal).
In the reported period, First Stevedoring Company handled 2.7mln t, Second Stevedoring Company – 0.82 mln t (-22%), Forth Stevedoring Company – 1.9 million tonnes (-12%). Third Stevedoring Company handled 10,600 automobiles during two months of its operation.
The decrease of Second Stevedoring Company should be attributes to redistribution of cargoes between the Group’s companies.
As for Forth Stevedoring Company, the decrease should be attributed to untimely delivery of railway wagons coal unloading.
