Primorsk Shipping Corporation ups transportation of liquid bulk cargo by 37% to 7.75 mln t in H1 08
In January-June 2008, the vessels of PRISCO (Primorsk Shipping Corporation (Singapore)) transported 7,755 million tonnes of liquid bulk cargo (+37%, year-on-year), the company informs.
94% of the total volume was transported by the company’s large-capacity fleet. Two Suezmax vessels (166,000-dwt each) and seven Aframax tankers (100,000-dwt each) delivered 6.788 million tonnes of liquid bulk cargo including over 3 million tonnes of crude oil from Sakhalin-1 and Sakhalin-2 projects.
In the first half of 2008, the company’s tankers carried 214,000 tonnes of liquid bulk cargo between Russian ports including transportation within the framework of the “Northern Delivery”.
As of today, PRISCO operates 19 tankers with total deadweight exceeding 1.350 million tonnes. Major directions of the company’s activities include export from Russian ports and transportation of cargo between foreign ports: South-East Asia, Europe, West Africa, Australia, USA, South America. Besides, PRISCO vessels carry coastal trade cargo.
Crude oil accounts for 80% of cargo transported by the Corporation. Besides, PRISCO transports oil products, edible oil and chemical cargo.
