Moller announced Monday that Trond Westlie, 48, a Norwegian who is currently executive vice president and CFO of Norway’s Telenor Group will take up the position as group CFO on Jan. 1.
Before joining Telenor in 2004, he was executive vice president and group CFO of Aker Kværner, the Norwegian shipbuilder.
“Trond Westlie brings extensive international experience within business development and in dealing with external stakeholders, combined with strong management skills,” said Moller-Maersk’s group CEO, Nils S. Andersen, who, like Westlie, was recruited from outside the group.
“Trond has a proven track-record as CFO of Telenor and before that of Aker Kværner, where he in both cases demonstrated strong leadership and professional skills,” Andersen said. “He has experience from asset intensive industries and has worked with the offshore and energy sectors as well as shipbuilding and the maritime industry.”
Westlie will join the Moller-Maersk executive board when he takes his new position, along with its current members: Nils S. Andersen, Claus V. Hemmingsen, Eivind Kolding, Soren Skou and Jakob Thomasen.
