First shipyard stage in Bolshoy Kamen’ (Primorskiy Kray) to commence operation by 2012 году

First stage of shipyard in closed territorial formation (ZATO) Bolshoy Kamen’ (Primorskiy Kray) will be put into operation in 2012. Shipyard construction will be fully completed by 2020 reported press-service of regional administration.

It is necessary to remind that in October United Shipbuilding Corporation OJSC and Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME) signed an agreement on a shipyard construction. South-Korean investors will transfer about $200 mln. Commencement of construction of a heavy-tonnage shipyard in the territory of ZATO Bolshoy Kamen’ is scheduled for January 2010.

The shipyard foundation was laid in November 2009 by Igor Sechin, Deputy Chairman of the RF Government, and Sergey Darkin, Governor of the kray.

Topographic survey for construction and elaboration of master-plan for shipbuilding in Primorskiy kray by 2020 are being carried out to the date.

The future shipyard already has a number of Clients among which such large companies as: Rosneft OJSC, Transneft OJSC, Gasprom OJSC, Sovcomflot OJSC and others. These contracts are long-term.

It is necessary to remind that in October in Korea Vladimir Putin, Chairman of the RF Government signed an agreement on construction of another heavy-tonnage shipyard in  Primorie – in the territory of ZATO Fokino (Chazhma).
