Russian shipbuilders have all the necessary capacities for the helicopter warships contract, the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) said in its letter to the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia posted by the company’s press service.
In particular, the USC’s letter said, Nevskoye Design Bureau has all the necessary experience for such orders. The NDB created the 1174 Project large landing ship of 1st rank (the helicopter landing warship of total displacement of 14,000 tons). In the 1980-ies Nevskoye Design Bureau has also developed a11780 project amphibious assault ship with total displacement of more than 30,000 tons.
Yantar Shipyard is also experienced in building (project 1174) of such vessels. The shipyard built in 1974-1989 three ships of this type (the Ivan Rogov). Other Russian shipyards, Admiralty Shipyards, Baltiysky Shipyard, Sevmash are also experienced in such shipbuilding projects: ".
