FESCO, Nurminen Logistics develop TransSib container service

The second high-speed container train of Transport Group FESCO, dispatched from the port of Hamina (Finland) through the border station Buslovskaya of Oktyabrskaya Railroad, delivered today the containers with the products of the Finnish pulp and paper industry, at Vostochny Port (Primorsky port.), FESCO press service reported.

This is a joint project developed by FESCO’s railway operator, Transgarant, and the largest Finnish logistics operator Nurminen Logistics. Two years ago Transgarant made an annual contract for the transportation of goods from Finland to Russia and CIS countries. There are several companies of the Group currently involved in the project.

Transgarant provides the rolling stock - fitting platforms. FESCO Integrated Transport, the service freight forwarder, is responsible for the safety and security of containers, while FESCO’s service ships provide delivery of cargo from the port of Vostochny to the South Pacific Region countries.

The Group owns and operates a fleet of more than 800dwt, while container capacity is 17,000 TEUs, and manages a diversified fleet of its own railway rolling stock of over 17,000 units. The Group’s container fleet is about 50,000 TEUs.The port facilities’ throughput is 250,000 TEUs and 7.5 million tons of general cargo.
