Vladimir Putin offers to nix state regulation of services at Russian ports
Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has charged the Ministry of Economic Development and the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) to study the issue of removal of state regulation of some services at Russian ports by early 2012, the United Russia press service said citing Mr. Putin’s statement at a meeting with the heads of Russian transport associations.
Mr. Putin said that the state regulation of tariffs for loading / unloading operations, cargo storage hinders the industry development. He added that this decision should not harm the interests of shippers and consignees.
Russian Prime Minister ordered to forward the experiment of deregulation of tariffs carried out by the Federal Tariff Service (FTS) in Big Port St. Petersburg and complete it before the end of this year.
