Russian crude oil exports through the terminal Spetsmornefteport Kozmino LLC (Port Vostochny) in the first half of 2011 grew by 5%, compared with the same period of 2010, to 7,498,000 tons, the Company’s press service said.
The six-month volume accounts for 50 percent of all crude exports scheduled for this year, the Company said.
In the reporting period 27% of ESPO Crude was exported to the U.S., 19% - to Japan, 13% - to South Korea, 11% - to the Philippines, 11% - to Thailand, 9% - to China, 7% - to Singapore, 2% - to Indonesia, and 1% - to India.
The volume of oil exports to the U.S. in June hit a record high, 400,000 tons or 31%. Only 100,000 tons were shipped this June to Japan, a major consumer of Russian crude oil.
Small oil producers exported in H1 from Kozmino 789,000 tons, which accounts for 10% of all crude oil shipments this year.
Today, July 1st, the Nordic Cosmos tanker docked at Kosmino terminal to take on board 100,000 tons of export ESPO grade. The Company plans to handle 13-14 tankers a month. This will help hit the annual export target of 15 million tons, the report said.
Spetsmornefteport Kozmino LLC (Special Oil Port of Kozmino, Primorsky Territory), a subsidiary of Transneft JSC, started operating in late 2009. Kozmino Oil Terminal is the terminus of the ESPO Oil Pipeline (Eastern Siberia-Pacific Ocean). While the ESPO project is under construction the crude oil is being delivered to the terminal by the railroad.
Kozmino Oil Terminal capacity is 15 million tons of oil a year, expandable to 30m t/y. The first export oil cargo was shipped from the terminal on Dec. 28, 2009. Russian oil exports through Kozmino in 2010 totaled 15.34 million tons. The main consumers of the commodity are in the Asia-Pacific region.
