Throughput of Russian ports will likely increase by 6-7% compared to last year’s figure, to 560 million tons, Deputy Transport Minister said on Friday.
In 2010 total cargo throughput of Russian seaports grew by 5.9% from a year earlier, to 525 85 million tons. The volume of dry cargo amounted to 211.5 million tons (+6.6%), liquid bulk – to 314 350 000 tons (+5.5%). Exports rose 5% to 404.19 million tons, imports surged by 43.8% to 39.34 million tons, transit cargoes grew by 2.7% to 45.96 million tons, while short sea traffic dropped 7.5% to 36.35 million tons.
Meanwhile, the country’s ports have seen a 0.6 percent volumes decline to 213,1m tons in five recent months of this year.
