Fujian port throughput up 16.2% in Jan-May

PORTS in the south eastern Province of Fujian posted 16.2 per cent year-on-year cargo volume growth to 144 million tonnes in the first five months, 0.8 per cent more than that of the first four months, reports Xinhua.

The provincial ports moved 3.6 million TEU, up 7.7 per cent year on year in the first five months. Fuzhou port handled 65,000 TEU with an 11.7 per cent increase, while Meizhouwan port moved 61,600 TEU with a 15.6 per cent hike and Xiamen port transported 2.36 million TEU with a 4.9 per cent rise.

 

Fuzhou port moved 38.2 million tonnes with a 25.9 per cent increase, while Meizhouwan port handled 43.2 million tonnes with an 8.5 per cent rise and Xiamen port moved 63 million tonnes with a 16.5 per cent growth.
