The new company, called United Arab Shipping Agencies Company Pakistan, took over agency functions as of July 1.
“The establishment of UASAC Pakistan is part of UASC’s long-term growth and regional expansion plans involving the acquisition of local agents and staging for an integrated global operation,” the Kuwait-based carrier said.
UASAC Pakistan has its headquarters in Karachi and branches at Lahore and Faisalabad.
UASC is a leading liner operator to and from the Indian subcontinent, providing regular weekly connections to key trade lanes of Europe, the U.S. East Coast and the Far East.
