Maersk and Safmarine cut China from Far East-West Africa FEW3 service

Danish shipping giant Maersk Line and its north-south specialist Safmarine have cut the China leg of their Far East-West Africa FEW3 loop so it now links Malaysia's Tanjung Pelepas to the Congo's Pointe Noire, Nigeria's Lagos-Tincan Island and Onne ports as well as Douala in Cameroon, using nine ships of 2,500 TEU class.

Calls at Hong Kong and Nansha in the Pearl River Delta as well as Fuzhou and Ningbo along the China coast have been cut with two ships being removed from the string of the FEW2 service, now encompassing China and Korea, according to Paris-based Alphaliner.
