Cargo throughput of Ukraine’s Berdyansk Commercial Sea Port in the first half of this year rose by 32.4% to 1,175,000 tons, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Communications of Ukraine said.
The six-month volume handled at the port includes 1,092,000 tons outbound cargo, 38,000 tons of inbound goods, and 43,000 tons of transit cargo. In the reporting period the port handled more coke, coal, metals and food than a year before.
In June, freight traffic passing through the port’s terminals increased by 21.1% to 215,200 tons, the Port Authority said.
Based in Zaporozhye region of Ukraine Berdyansk Commercial Sea port is now a fastest growing ports of the Azov Sea, which enables exports-imports and short sea trade flows in the region. Annual throughput of the port is about 2 million tons of different cargoes.
