Shanghai port's container throughput volumes in June rose year-on-year but dipped month-on-month, latest figures from Shanghai International Port (Group) showed, Seatrade Asia online reports. Throughput volumes last month were recorded at 2.62m teu, rising 7.4% from 2.44m teu seen in the same period last year. Month-on-month, volumes declined 5.1% compared to 2.76m teu in May. For the first six months this year, the Chinese port moved 15.3m teu, up 10.1% compared to 13.9m teu in the corresponding period of 2010. Shanghai, the world's largest container port, handled 29.1m teu in 2010.
