US freight forwarder Pilot Freight Services chooses the Netherlands

The American freight forwarder Pilot Freight Services will use the Netherlands as a springboard for global expansion. The choice was influenced by the proximity of Schiphol Airport and the seaport of Rotterdam, Portofrotterdam reports.
With 75 locations, the American freight forwarder claims to be one of the largest freight forwarders in the United States, but internationally it has always used international networks of agents. This situation will partly cease now, with the forwarder’s own station in the Netherlands. In the split financial year 2010/2011, Pilot Freight achieved a turnover of $423.5 million, an increase of 30%. The turnover from international freight increased particularly strongly, by 60%.
