DP World has won a temporary stay against a proposal by India’s port regulator, Tariff Authority for Major Ports to reduce tariffs at Chennai Container Terminal, a DP World-managed facility, Portstrategy reports.
The court stay was in response to a petition filed by the international operator, challenging the 35% rate cut which was planned to take effect from May 20 and remain in force until March 31, 2013.
An article previously published on www.portstrategy.com (‘Chennai drops tariffs’, July 23) stating the Indian High Court had allowed a reduction in tariff was incorrect and Port Strategy sincerely apologises for any confusion that article might have caused.
