Hapag-Lloyd have announced the start of two new freight shipping services - a new weekly Singapore - Indonesia Service (SIS) connecting Singapore and Indonesia and a new feeder service connecting Halifax with Portland, Maine and Boston, Massachusetts, Handy Shipping Guide reports.
The new SIS service will have its first sailing depart from Singapore on August the 4th and call at Surabaya and Jakarta before returning to Singapore.
The new North American feeder service means that Hapag-Lloyd now offers an all water connection to Portland, Maine and Boston, Massachusetts via the port of Halifax.
The service schedule runs:
Sailing Halifax Fridays, arrive Portland Sunday
Depart Portland Monday, arrive Boston Tuesday
Depart Boston Tuesday, arrive Halifax Wednesday.
Hapag-Lloyd states that the new service allows customer on the U.S. East Coast to link more efficiently into their regular Halifax services to Asia, Northern Europe, the Mediterranean and the Middle-East.
