Klaipeda Container Terminal to carry 15 wind turbines to Poland

The Lithuania-based port Klaipeda Container Terminal will transport 15 wind turbines with total weight of 4,800 tons to Poland, Suwalki Taciewo area, the maritime news portal Jura reports.

Power plants from Spain will be shipped in three vessels in July. Klaipeda Container Terminal Chief Executive Vaidotas Sileika said that cargo is special because of its non-standard dimensions and weight, reports LETA/ELTA.

"It is very important that Poles valued an effective Klaipeda Port work and chose Lithuania's port not Poland to load wind power stations", Vaidotas Sileika pointed out.

In 2009, Klaipeda Container Terminal handled 16 wind turbines for Poland.

In mid-July the enterprise delivered six wind turbines to Lithuania Silale district where they are planned to be build.

Klaipeda Container Terminal has also transported oversized and heavy equipment to Minsk plant.
