Reclamation works for the construction of the second phase of the marine terminal at newly built port of Bronka (St. Petersburg, Russia) have been completed, Phoenix company said. Overall, reclamation will allow forming a territory of about 85 ha.
Completion of dredging and reclamation works is scheduled for the end of 2014. The depth of the approach channel should reach 14,4 m, width - 185 meters.
The multifunctional transshipment complex Bronka will include three specialized terminals for handling containers, rolling cargoes and a logistics terminal.
The container terminal will encompass 107 hectares, 1,176 m of waterfront (5 berths), the rolling cargo terminal area - 57 hectares (630m), the logistics center - 42 ha.
Annual cargo throughput of the firs phase of Bronka terminals is expected to be 1.45 million TEUs, and 260,000 units of ro-ro cargoes. The port capacity is expandable up to 1.9 million TEUs a year. Private investment in the project is estimated at RUB 43.8 billion. In 2009-2011, the investor had injected over RUB 3 bn in the facilities construction. The port will be able to handle the first ship at the end of 2014, the company said.
Phoenix Ltd. (a subsidiary of JSC Holding Company “Forum”) was founded in 2007 specifically for the construction of multifunctional marine cargo complex "Bronka" at Big Port of St. Petersburg. The project is supported by the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation and the government of St. Petersburg.
