Qatargas delivered the first Qatari liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargo to the Netherlands, the company said in a statement on Wednesday, Energytribune reports.
The shipment comprised the third commissioning LNG cargo for the start-up of the Gas Access to Europe (Gate) terminal in the port of Rotterdam, due to open in September.
Qatar, the world’s largest exporter of LNG, can now produce up to 77 million tonnes of super-cooled gas a year.
