Tallinna Sadam’s H1 net income down 2% to EUR 15.3m

Net income of AS Tallinna Sadam (Port of Tallinn, Estonia) for the first half of 2011 decreased by 2% compared to H1, 2010, to around EUR 15.3 million, the company said.

In the reporting period, consolidated net income (unaudited) from sales grew by 8% to EUR 48.2 million.

Half-year traffic volume increased by 8% to 19.2 million tons. Tallinn still retained its third place in terms of cargo volume among the ports of the Gulf of Finland, next to Primorsk (Leningrad region) and the Big Port St. Petersburg, but ahead of the ports of Klaipeda (Lithuania), Riga (Latvia) and Ventspils (Latvia).

JSC Tallinna Sadam, established in 1992, is a 100% owned company of the government of Estonia. The stevedoring company operates at Port of Tallinn.
 
In 2010, throughput of the port totaled 36.65 million tons. Net income of Tallinna Sadam for 2010 jumped nearly 50% year-on-year, to EUR 42.3 million.
