Northeast China builds logistics park to boost trade with Russia
Northeast Ningan city in Heilongjiang province has built a fruit and vegetable to facilitate exports to Russia, Xinhua reports.
The new Ningan Yuan Feng International Logistics Park is China's first of its kind opened to exploit Russian trade. The 220,000-square metre facility cost CNY250 million (US$39 million) of which CNY1.5 million was spent on a railway from Ningan to Russia.
The logistics park's phase two is now under construction. It now can offer one-stop complex services including warehousing, transaction, inspection and quarantine, clearance, taxation for exports to Russia. It is expected to handle 800,000 tonnes of fruit and vegetables every year, half of which is to be exports to Russia, valued at US$50 million.
