Hunan province, between Guangdong and Hubei, will soon establish its first logistics park exclusively for agricultural produce has been built up in northern Ningxiang county, Shippingazette reported.
The CNY100 million (US$15.7 million) facility, largely owned by the state-owned Hunan Grain Group, covers nine hectares. It is equipped with grain storage and distribution warehouses, one exclusive rail line and station, and is able to handle up to 500,000 tonnes' farm products per year, Xinhua's report said.
Through linking up suppliers and sellers as well as helping to reduce logistics cost, the facility will effectively stimulate economic growth at the province's rural areas, said the report.
