Throughput of RSE Aktau International Commercial Sea Port (Port of Aktau, Kazakhstan) in January-September of 2011 amounted to 9,026,900 tons, down 4.8 percent from last year’s figures, the Port Authority statistics said.
In January-September, shipments of crude oil and petroleum products from the port’s terminal amounted to 6,140,800 tons. The nine-month volume of dry cargo totaled 2,886,100 tons, including 1,458,500 tons of metal, 246,200 tons of other cargoes and 145,000 tons of grain. The volume of ferry traffic was 1,036,400 tons. There were 1579 ship calls at the port.
In September, Port of Aktau handled 1,004.800 tons of dry and liquid bulk cargo, including 592,800 tons of oil products, 203,400 tons of metal, 138.500 tons of ferry cargo, 44,600 tons of grain and 25,500 tons of other cargoes. During the month, the port handled 184 vessels.
The Republican State Enterprise (RSE) Aktau International Commercial Sea Port is a stevedore company of the Port of Aktau, located on the east coast of the Caspian Sea. Port of Aktau, the premier port of Kazakhstan, is a gateway for international trade flows passing through the country. The port’s terminals handle a broad range of dry cargoes, crude oil and petroleum products. In 2010, the Aktau Port’s throughput rose by 26.7% year-over-year, to 13,951,000 tons.
