Nobel Bros Shipyard launches A40-2B project boom-laying boat for Rosmorrechflot
On September 7th, Nobel Bros Shipyard (Rybinsk, Yaroslavl region) held a launching ceremony for the sixth in a series of littoral rescue and booms-laying boats of project A40-2B, ordered by the Federal Agency of Maritime and River Transport (Rosmorrechflot) for Baltic Basin Emergency Service, the shipbuilding firm said. The vessel was named Valery Barsky.
“The vessel was designed as a littoral boat for joint operations with the coastal infrastructure of the port of Novorossiysk, and will serve to ensure the safety of navigation and environmental protection,” the company’s press release said.
In 2010, the Rybinsk-based yard constructed four rescue boats of Project A-40-2B, which is able to serve as a containment boom-laying vessel, for Rosmorrechflot. On September 29, 2011 the shipyard launched the fifth serial boat christened Evgeny Morozov.
Based in Rybinsk of Yaroslavl Region Nobel Brothers Shipyard Ltd. was founded in 1907. Now, this is the largest shipbuilding firm in the Upper Volga (the yard encompasses 214,000 sq.km) with the workforce of 500 people. The company specializes in the construction of sea-going and river vessels, as well as ship repair. Nobel Bros Shipyard executes orders for Dutch customers for the hulls of dry bulk carriers, tankers, barges and other vessels.
