China ports throughput rises 13.5 percent in Jan-Sept
Cargo traffic at the ports of China in January-September 2011 rose by 13.5 percent year-on-year, to nearly 6.75 billion tons, the Ministry of Transport of China statistics said.
In the reporting period, seaports of the country handled 4.6 million tons, up 13.5 percent from Jan-Sept., 2010, while river ports throughput increased by 13.7 percent to 2.15 billion tons.
China's container traffic grew by 12.6 percent to 121.17 million TEUs, including 108.5 million TEUs (+11.9% yoy) handled at seaports of the country.
