The first container ship Dolphin Strait has passed new customs clearance procedure without customs control inspection onboard the vessel at Nakhodka Customs posts, the Far Eastern Customs Directorate said.
The new technology is applied in line with the new Concept of Customs Clearance and Customs Control of goods in places close to the state border of the Russian Federation, as well as the system of Advance Cargo Declaration (ACD) through web-based applications.
The procedure is aimed at facilitating the process of customs clearance and customs control and reduction of time of customs operations. This also help increase the capacity of sea border crossing points.
By mid-October 22 organizations have submitted e-customs declarations through the Far East Customs’ web-based application. The regional customs authorities have processed 34 e-declarations and received 2900 documents.
The ACD system is applied at the Sea Port Vostochny customs post of Nakhodka Customs from July 1, 2011.
