RZD head blames poor interaction for coal exports backlog in Kuzbass
The difficulties with export of coal, congestion of the commodity at the warehouses in the Kuzbass region, were associated largely with poor interaction between participants of the rail market due to the lack of legal regulation of empty rail cars movement on the RZD network, the state-owned monopoly reports quoting Russian Railways head.
According to RZD President Vladimir Yakunin, who met recently with Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, the situation with coal exports has been stabilized, but still needs monitoring. RZD has established an ad hoc team, Mr. Yakunin said, which will work in conjunction with the regional authorities and freight owners in order to prevent such failures.
