Shipping lane between Turkey and Egypt to open in December
Turkey has announced that shipping services between Turkey's Mersin port and Egypt's Alexandria port will begin on December 1st. The initiative will form part of efforts to increase the volume of trade between the two countries, Middle East Monitor reports.
Turkish media reported that Turkish-Egyptian political and economic relations have markedly developed of late as trade relations between the two countries have been enhanced, and more means for the transfer of commodities between the two are being facilitated.
Turkish trade ships will begin sailing to Egypt between 5 and 7 December. During the same period, the committee on bilateral business relations between the two countries is due to hold a meeting in Cairo.
