China Shipping Development Company (CSDC) posted a 72.5% fall in net profit in the third-quarter while revenue inched up, Seatrade Asia online reports. The Hong Kong-listed firm recorded third-quarter net profit of RMB135.1m ($21.3m) compared to RMB491.4m in the corresponding period of last year.
CSDC achieved revenue of RMB3.1bn during the quarter, up marginally from RMB2.9bn in the same period a year ago.
CSDC this week announced expenditure of some RMB929.3m to construct five bulk carriers to increase its coal transportation business.
