Panalpina begins two direct LCL Asia-Poland services
Panalpina launched two direct less-than-container load services between Taiwan and South Korea and Poland, as part of the Swiss logistics company’s long-term strategy to grow business on key Asian trade lanes, Journal of Commerce reports. The guaranteed weekly services linking Keelung and Busan to Wroclaw, Poland, operated by in-house carrier Pantainer Express Line, were launched to meet increased customer demands, especially in the automotive, high-tech and telecom sectors, Panalpina said.
The direct services reduce transit times by two days, compared with the previous routing via Panalpina’s LCL hub in Hamburg, Germany — 32 days from Keelung and 38 days from Busan. The new services will “remarkably” enhance Panalpina’s product portfolio in Poland, said Carsten Meyer, global head of ocean freight LCL.
“The new services also strengthen our position as one of the leading LCL service providers on the Asia to Europe trade," he said.
Panalpina already operates direct LCL services to Poland from Shanghai, Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Ningbo.
