Port of Temryuk traffic rises 23 percent to 2.17 mln tons

Cargo traffic at the port Temryuk in January-November 2011 grew by 23% year-over-year, to 2.17 million tons, the Temryuk Port Authority said.


The eleven-month volume of outbound cargoes increased by 34.86% to 1.96 million tons, with a 44-percent slump in inbound goods, to 131,400 tons. Short sea traffic rose 13.2% to 84,920 tons. Calls at the port of Temryuk grew by 15.3% to 744 ships.


Port of Temryuk is located on the Taman seashore of the Azov Sea. The berths of total length of 1,200 rm are equipped for handling general cargoes, round timber, lumber, metals, oversized cargo and food products .  In 2010, throughput of the port of Temryuk declined by 7.4% year-over-year to 1.95 million tons.
