The new service will be a part of the operational agreement between CMA CGM and the Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC).
According to CMA CGM, the new service has been created as a direct response to the growing demand for refrigerated cargoes from Chile and Peru to Philadelphia and New York.
The direct fixed-day weekly service will become effective from mid-January (southbound) and will call at 6 main US ports ((Port Everglades, Jacksonville, Savannah, Charleston, Philadelphia and New York), one connecting hub in Balboa and 4 main ports in West Coast South America (Callao, Arica, Valparaiso and Coronel).
The Black Pearl service will deploy seven vessels with a 4,000 TEU capacity and will be operated by MSC.
The new Black Pearl rotation will be as follows: Philadelphia, New York, Charleston, Savannah, Jacksonville, Freeport, Port Everglades, Cristobal, Balboa, Callao, Arica, Coronel, Valparaiso, Balboa, Cristobal, Freeport, Philadelphia and New York.
