Vostochny Port cargo volumes up 8 percent in January

Handling of cargo by JSC Vostochny Port in January grew by 8 percent year-on-year to 1,328,700 tons, the stevedore company news release said.


In January, shipments of different cargoes from Universal Transshipment Terminal (PPK-1) increased by 40 percent to 241,700 tons.

Coal exports from Specialized Coal Terminal (PPK-3) rose by 3% to 1,087,000 tons..

Vostochny Port JSC is the major stevedore company in the Russian Far East operating at the port of Vostochny, the largest Russian deep-sea port in the Far East. The company specializes in handling of coal using the conveyor equipment. The company’s assets include a Specialized Coal Terminal and Universal Transshipment Terminal (PPK-1) for handling general and bulk cargoes (coal, coke, clinker, iron ore, timber, etc.) as well as metals, pulp, aluminum, chemical, heavy-lift and oversized cargo. In 2011, the stevedore handled 16.5 million tons, a 12 percent gain year-on-year.
