Cargo traffic at Aktau International Sea Commercial Port (RSE "AISCP") of Kazakhstan in January 2012 totaled 1,039,900 tons of dry bulk and oil products, up 5.5% from the 2011’s numbers, the stevedoring company said.
Shipments of crude oil and petroleum products fell 6.9 percent to 662,300 tons, handling of steel products declined by 12% to 140,900 tons, the monthly volume of other types of cargo dropped by 78.7% to 22,000 tons, grain exports soared by 4.7 times to 52,300 tons. Ferry traffic volumes leaped by more than twofold to 162,400 tons. The number of calls in January 2012 was up 10.8% (184 vessels), from the 2011’s figure.
