Transport Minister slated to head Russian Govt Marine Board

Russian Transportation Minister Igor Levitin was appointed Interim Chairman of the Marine Board of the Russian Government, effective as of March 3, 2012, the Ministry press office said.


The following officials will be removed from the list of Marine Board members: head of the Presidential Administration Sergei Ivanov (former Chairman), the ex-governor of Arkhangelsk Region Ilya Mikhalchuk, the former Industry and Trade Minister Viktor Khristenko, the former Deputy Secretary of Security Council Yuri Baluyevsky and former chairman of a State Duma Committee Sergei Shishkaryov.


The Marine Board under the Russian Government is a permanent coordinating body that ensures the coordinated actions of federal executive bodies, executive authorities of the RF regions and organizations in the field of maritime activities.
