In January-November 2008, Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port OJSC handled 74.33 million tonnes of cargo (+2.72%, year-on-year), the company reports.
In the reported period, transshipment of general cargo grew by 4.61%, year-on-year, to 10.102 million tonnes of cargo including 7.933 million tonnes of ferrous metal (+9.36%), 935,000 tonnes of timber (-8.27%), 791,000 tonnes of non-ferrous metal (-12.17%).
Transshipment of liquid bulk cargo fell by 0.32%, year-on-year, to 50.088 million tonnes including 39.115 million tonnes of crude (-4.36%) and 9.978 million tonnes of oil products (+20.49%).
Transshipment of dry bulk cargo grew by 0.37%, year-on-year. Transshipment of grain totaled 5.342 million tonnes (+3.92%), cement – 1.027 million tonnes (up 2.1 times).
The company’s container throughput increased by 50.74%, year-on-year, to 350,000 TEU.
OJSC Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port is the largest Russian port operator in terms of cargo turnover. NCSP consolidated cargo turnover for 2007 totaled 79.4 million tons, which is some 97% of cargo handled at the port of Novorossiysk (according to the Association of Sea Ports).
NCSP shares are traded on the London Stock Exchange (NCSP) and Russia’s RTS and MICEX exchanges (NMTP). Consolidated revenue to IFRS for the first half of 2008 totaled $314.7 million, EBITDA – $183.4 million, net profit – $84.5 million.
