Port of Vladivostok seven-month throughput up 11.3 percent
Cargo traffic at Commercial Seaport of Vladivostok (JSC CPV, part of Transportation Group FESCO) in January-July, 2012 rose 11.3% over the same period last year, to 4 145.6 million tons, the port’s press release said.
The seven-month volume of exports, imports and short sea traffic totaled 2,047,000 tons of dry bulk, liquid bulk and other general cargoes excluding containers and imported vehicles.
Container throughput at Commercial Port of Vladivostok in the reporting period was 261,782 TEUs, imported cars and vehicles - 44,333 units.
Containerized cargo, imported autos and vehicles totaled 44,333 units.
The average daily output at the port was 19,462 tons of cargo and 261 units of rolling stock.
“JSC Commercial Port of Vladivostok foresees a decline in freight flows due to the limitations of the transport hub of Vladivostok during the APEC Summit-2012" the company said.
In connection with this, the stevedoring company encourages its partners and customers to schedule the receipt and export of goods by sea within the constraints imposed by public authorities in connection with the major international event in Vladivostok.
Thus, in accordance with the order of the Ministry of Transportation of Russia some restrictions go into effect as from 00:00 (Local Time), on September 7, 2012, when some areas in the waters of Vladivostok will be not permitted for merchant shipping.
Anchorage and movement of all vessels, including small boats, except boats employed for APEC Summit-2012, the vessels of local passenger services, rescue boats will be permitted in the waters of sea port of Vladivostok.
Port of Vladivostok will be open for shipping as from 00:00 local time, September 11, 2012.
