Vladivostok port's cargo traffic rises 9.6 percent
Freight flows passing through the terminals of FESCO’s Commercial Sea Port of Vladivostok in January-August 2012 totaled 4,715,700 tons, up 9.6% over the same period last year, the company’s statistics said.
In the reporting period CPV handled 2,231,000 tons of dry bulk, liquid bulk and other general cargoes.
The eight-month container throughput at CPV was 301,238 TEUs. The port handled 53,075 imported autos and vehicles.
During the reporting period, the port’s stevedores every day were unloading / loading on average 19,326 tons of cargo and 263 units of rolling stock.
Commercial Seaport of Vladivostok, member of FESCO Transport Group, owns and operates its assets at the port of Vladivostok, a premier Russian seaport in the Far East region. Port of Vladivostok encompasses 55 ha, over 14 km of waterfront featuring 17 berths with terminals for handling grain, containers, imported vehicles, as well as a passenger terminal. In 2011, CPV’s cargo throughput fell 7.8% year-over-year to 6.38 million tons.
