SITC sees good prospects on intra-Asia trade

Intra-Asia focussed line SITC International Holdings sees volume growing 20% a year for the next ten years as revenue jumps nine-fold to as much as $10bn, according to news reports, Seatrade Asia online reports.

Ceo Yang Xianxiang wasquoted as saying that he believes the faster growth in the region will put the company in a good position going forward.

He added that the smaller 1,000-teu vessels SITC operates allows themto run higher frequencies on their network. This will help SITC to
effectively compete against other lines cascading bigger ships into the intra-Asia lanes as Asia-Europe falters this high season.
