Rongsheng bags breakthrough rig orders

Beleaguered shipyard Jiangsu Rongsheng Heavy Industries has made a big breakthrough in offshore, SinoShip News understands. The yard, which this year has only received two panamax ship orders, has just bagged a brace of debut jack-up rigs for an unnamed owner. Rongsheng is eagerly turning its attention to offshore to help fill out the yard and to this end it has developed an office in Singapore focused on offshore. To date, Rongsheng’s only offshore experience has been one deepsea pipelayer for CNOOC.
