According to FESCO Group’s operational results for January-September, the Russian carrier’s bilateral sea container trade increased by 13% from a year earlier, to 257 707 twenty-foot equivalent units. Domestic sea container trade volumes amounted to 50 888 TEUs, up 10% year-on-year, the shipping company’s press release said.
Intermodal transportation and freight forwarding rose 5% year-on-year to 151,193 TEUs. Reefer cargo traffic soared by 38% from the last year’s figures, to 35,917 TEUs.
In the reporting period, rail container traffic was up 8% to 198,973 TEU, while non-container rail transportation fell 4% to 18.5 million tons. Non-container rail cargo turnover amounted to 22.3 billion ton / km.
Consolidated container throughput at Vladivostok Commercial Sea Port (including Vladivostok Container Terminal) totaled 338 769 TEU, up 8% year-on-year. Non-container cargo throughput reached 2,459,600 tons (+12% versus 9M 2011).
