Sosnovsky Shipyard hands over two supply ships of Project DCV47

Sosnovsky Shipyard has delivered the third and fourth supply vessels “Sosnovka-3” and “Sosnovka-4” of Project DCV47 (Hull No. 10502, 10503) intended for Kamchatka, the project designer Marine Engineering Bureau said.

The Customer is the Federal Marine and River Transport Agency (Rosmorrechflot).

The ships construction is funded through the Federal target program "Economic and Social Development of the Far East and Transbaikalia until 2013" and will be operated by the State Unitary Enterprise "KamchatTransFlot."

The first two serial barges "Sosnovka-1" and "Sosnovka-2" have been successfully operated in Kamchatka.

The self-propelled Ro-Ro barge of carrying capacity of 250 tons is intended for shipping general, bulk and containerized cargoes on cargo deck, and loading wheeled and tracked vehicles by rolling on, for loading / unloading of ships at offshore locations. The vessel is designed for delivery of cargo to the unequipped shore by rolling off the cargo through the bow ramp or offloading by the ship crane.

Ship’s specifications: length overall - 42.6 m, LBP 38.40 m, overall breadth – about 8.82 m, LWL draft – 2.0 m, maximum operational speed - 9 knots. The ship is powered by twin 256kW main engines. Container capacity – 12 TEU. Safe load on cargo deck - 15 tons /axle of a vehicle or tracked vehicle weight up to 60 tons, cargo crane - 7.3 tons (radius - 20 m).

Ship Class MS: KM (*) Ice 2 [1] R1 AUT3 OMBO.

The series lead ship the Sosnovka-1 was laid down on January 13, 2010, launched on May 13, 2011 and commissioned on August 6, 2011. Keel-laying of the Sosnovka-2, the Sosnovka-3 and the Sosnovka-4 was held on Jan. 18, 2010, Feb. 28 and Mar. 11, 2011, respectively.
Sosnovsky Shipyard based in Sosnovka, Kirov region was founded in 1924. The company specializes in fabrication of vessels of various modifications using flow production. The shipbuilder is capable of manufacturing up to 300 small vessels annually.
