Coal exports through the terminals of LLC Port Vysotsky in January-October of 2012 totaled 2,532,493.9 tons, a 6.6-percent decline year-on-year, the stevedoring company said.
In October, shipments of Russian coal via Port Vysotsky amounted to 414,287,102 tons.
LLC Port Vysotsky specializes in handling of Russian coal exported to Western Europe. In 2011, coal throughput at Port Vysotsky increased by 39% year-over-year to 3,201,750.9 tons. In December 2011, Port Vysotsky completed dredging project deepening the harbor and approach channel to 12.7 meters. The channel has now 200 m in width. Maximum draft of vessels was increased from 9,3 m to 11,9 m. This enables access of 45,000DWT bulkers to the coal terminal.
