Anti-piracy body ReCAAP and Interpol have formalised their cooperation with the signing of an agreement, Seatrade Asia online reports.
The agreement covers joint cooperation and mutual support and established a platform for future cooperation.
The agreement was signed by Yoshihisa Endo, executive director of the ReCAAP Information Sharing Centre, and Ronald K. Noble, secretary general of Interpol.
“Having Interpol being our partner organisation is a boost in furthering closer collaboration between the Asian Initiative to combat piracy and armed robbery against ships in Asia and the law enforcement agencies,” said Endo.
