Shanghai, the world's busiest container port, recorded a year-on-year increase in throughput in October but volumes dipped compared to the previous month, Seatrade Asia online reports.
The Chinese port registered box throughput of 2.72m teu last month, improving 1.5% from 2.68m teu in the same period of 2011 but lower compared to 2.91m teu in September this year, according to data from Shanghai International Port (Group).
In the first nine months of this year, Shanghai moved a total of 26.94m teu, up from 26.48m teu in the corresponding period of last year.
