The volume of bunkers sold in Singapore during the month of October rose to 3,508,400 metric tonnes (mt) for all products, a gain of 5.47% over September's total, according to official data from Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), Ship & Bunker reports.
The month-on-month gain follows two consecutive months of falling volumes in the port, with the total just 1% less than the 3,546,200 mt recorded for all products in October 2011.
Benchmark grade IFO380 gained 6.88% on the previous month to rise to 2,747,000 mt, and MGO sales slipped for a second month, down 3.3% to 114,200 mt.
Sales of 500 cSt product made a 2.46% gain to 549,100 mt to recover some of the 5.67% loss for the product last month.
Vessel arrivals rose 1.77% on the previous month to 10,959 mt after last months slight dip, and bunkers only calls also climbed, up 4.72% month-on-month to 3,217.
For the 10 months to October 2010, the total for all products is now 35,784,000 mt, just ahead of the 35,734,300 mt sold in the same period last year.
But with the average monthly volume now standing at 3,578,400, the 12-month projection is now 42,940,800 mt, just short of last year's record of 43,153,600.
