Cargo traffic at the ports of China in January-October 2012 increased by 6.7% year-on-year, to 6.7 billion tons, the Transportation Ministry of China statistics said.
In the reporting period, Chinese seaports saw a 7.5-percent gain from last year’s numbers to 5.52 bn mt, river ports throughput rose 5% to 2.54 bn mt.
Container traffic at the country’s ports increased by 8.1 % to 146.1 mln TEUs.
